Frequently Asked Questions

1How long can I keep the skip bin?
You can keep our skip bins on-site for up to seven consecutive days, which is our standard hire period. If you need the skip for a longer period, we offer extensions based on availability, though additional charges may apply. For businesses, we provide competitive rates for extended hires beyond the standard seven days. Please note that picking up the skip bin earlier than seven days does not reduce the original hire fee.
2What can’t I put in the skip?
For a complete list of prohibited items, please visit our terms and conditions page on the website. Commonly banned items include gas bottles, liquids, food waste, chemicals, paint, oils, needles or syringes, and car/motorbike tyres. If you’re unsure about a specific item, feel free to contact our team via email or phone.
3Does your pricing include tipping fees?
Yes, each skip comes with an allocated weight allowance that includes tipping fees. As long as you stay within this allowance, there will be no additional charges. However, if you exceed the weight limit, you’ll be charged for the extra weight at the daily tipping rate. For soil and concrete-only skips, there’s no weight limit since the materials are recyclable, leading to minimal tipping fees.
4How big are your skips?

3m³ 18 12 3

5Can I put green waste in my skip?
Yes, skip bins are an excellent way to dispose of large amounts of green waste from your garden. Once collected, the green waste is taken to a disposal facility where it’s processed and converted into mulch and compost. This is an environmentally friendly option that helps reduce landfill space and can lower your costs.
6Do you offer same-day delivery?
Yes, we offer same-day delivery. However, availability can vary based on daily bookings, so it’s best to contact our office during business hours via phone or email to confirm. If same-day delivery isn’t available, we guarantee next-day delivery on all bookings. You can book through our website or by calling us directly.
7Can the skip be placed on the road or nature strip?
Yes, we can place skips on the road or nature strip, but a permit is required for safety reasons when skips are placed on Council land or roadways, which is anything beyond your property boundary. We can arrange the permit on your behalf as part of your booking. Permit costs vary depending on the Council, the location of the bin, and the length of time the permit is required, and these costs will be added to your booking.
8Can I put concrete and rubbish in a skip?
Yes, but it’s not recommended. If you have a large amount of concrete, it’s best to discuss your options with our team when booking. If it’s all concrete, we can recycle it, making it an environmentally friendly and economical choice. If the skip contains a mix of concrete and general rubbish, it will need to go to landfill, which can be costly due to the weight.
9When do I pay for the skip?
Payment is required on the day of delivery or before the skip is dropped off. Our drivers accept various payment methods, including EFTPOS and EFT.
10Can I throw away my old mattress?
Yes, you can, but there is an extra charge. Please discuss this with our team before booking or before the skip is picked up. Mattresses can be placed on top of the skip once it’s full. For safety reasons, our drivers are unable to lift mattresses onto bins or trucks.
11What level can I fill the skip bin to?
Skip bins should be filled level with the top edge. This is to ensure the safety of our drivers when covering the skip and to comply with road safety regulations. If a team member instructs otherwise, please follow their guidance.
12Is the bin cheaper if we only use a small portion of it?
No, the price remains the same regardless of how much of the skip’s capacity you use.
13Do you recycle?
Yes, we are committed to recycling as much waste as possible to minimise landfill. We offer discounted rates for skips designated for specific materials like soil, bricks, concrete, and green waste. Our team is happy to answer any recycling questions and help you choose the most cost-effective option.
14Will the skip bin damage my driveway?
In most cases, the skip won’t damage your driveway as it is carefully lifted on and off the truck using a hydraulic crane system. However, if you’re concerned, placing sturdy timber, plywood, or carpet under the bin can offer extra protection. This can be arranged with our team during drop-off.
15Can you deliver, load, and take away the skip in one day?
Typically, we can accommodate pre-booked skip bin deliveries and pickups on the same day, though this may depend on how busy we are. We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability. We also offer a “priority pick-up” service for an additional fee, which can be discussed at the time of booking or before pick-up.
16Do I need to be home when my skip bin is delivered?
No, you don’t need to be home for the delivery. Skips can be placed in your driveway or elsewhere within your property line, which can be arranged before delivery. With Council permission, skips can also be placed on the nature strip or roadway, though additional fees may apply depending on the location and council.
